Sharks 2025 Season!
Greetings, Sharks Families!
Summer is just around the corner, and with it comes swim season! We are excited to kick off the summer and look forward to a fantastic season. Online registration is now open, so get a head start by clicking here.
Please take a moment to read through the entire email, as it contains important details about the upcoming season.
First, a special thank you:
We want to express our gratitude to Bridgett Eble for coaching the team last season. Although we’re sad to see her go, we have exciting news about our new Head Coach, Mark Weber.
Mark is thrilled to join the Sharks as Head Coach for the upcoming season. He and his wife Courtney, along with their two children, Delaney (6) and Wells (4), moved to River Hills in 2021. Mark comes with a wealth of competitive swimming knowledge. Here's a bit about his background:
- Mark swam at Florida State University from 2009-2013, earning 4 NCAA All-American honors, winning 5 ACC Championships, and setting both FSU and ACC records.
- After graduation, Mark pursued his dream of becoming an Olympian, moving to Charlotte, NC, and training with SwimMAC Team Elite from 2013-2016.
- As a member of Team Elite, he became a Top 25 swimmer in the 50 freestyle, earned a spot on the USA Swimming National Team, helped SwimMAC win the 2014 USA Swimming National Championship, and competed in several national and international events.
- Mark also served as an Athlete Representative on the USA Swimming Board of Directors from 2014-2018, including roles as Athlete's Committee Chair and Board of Directors Athlete’s Vice President.
- Currently, Mark works as a Commercial General Contractor with Paddock Construction Co., specializing in building competition pools throughout the southeast. Additionally, he serves as a C-17A Pilot with the North Carolina Air National Guard.
Mark is ready to dive into the season, but we need your help! We are looking for at least two assistant coaches to support Mark, particularly with younger swimmers. If any parents are interested or know someone who might be, please reach out to me or Erin Vinson as soon as possible.
