Head Coach
Mark is thrilled to join the Sharks as Head Coach this year. Mark moved to River Hills with his wife Courtney and two children, Delaney (6) and Wells (4), in 2021. He brings a wealth of competitive swimming knowledge to our program.
Mark swam at Florida State University from 2009-2013 where he earned 4 NCAA All- American honors, won 5 ACC Championships, and was an FSU and ACC record holder. After graduating in 2013, he chased his dream of becoming an Olympian by moving to Charlotte, NC and training with SwimMAC Team Elite from 2013-2016. As a member of Team Elite Mark became a Top 25 50 Free style swimmer in the world, earned a spot on the USA Swimming National team in the 50 free, helped SwimMAC win the 2014 USA Swimming National Championship title, and competed in multiple events nationally and internationally.
In addition to his work in the pool, Mark also served on the USA Swimming Board of Directors from 2014-2018 as an Athlete Representative, and served at the Athlete’s Committee Chair and Board of Director’s Athlete’s Vice President from 2016-2018.
Currently, Mark is a Commercial General Contractor with Paddock Construction Co. specializing in building competition pools throughout the southeast. Mark also serves part time as a C-17A Pilot with the North Carolina Air National Guard.
